Part of Speech atau Jenis kata dalam bahasa Inggris terdiri dari :
1. Pronoun, Kata Ganti biasanya sebagai subjek dalam kalimat, yaitu : She, He, They, We, I, You
2. Noun, Kata Benda, sudah tau mungkin ya kata benda, Chair, Telephone, Laptop, Watch, Jacket, Ring, Shirt, Beach, Cloud, Sun, Mountain, dan lain sebagainya.
3. Verb, Kata Kerja biasanya sebagai predikat, contoh : Wash, Clean, Sweep, Read, Write, Listen, dan lain sebagainya.
4. Adjective, Kata Sifat, contoh: Beautiful, Sour, Handsome, Sweet, Diligent, Smart, Lazy, dan lain sebagainya.
5. Adverb, Kata Keterangan, sebetulnya adverb in English terbagi lagi menjadi beberapa namun nanti itu akan coba dishare di blog selanjutnya. Contoh: Slowly, Often, Usually, Always, In the Market, dan lain sebagainya.
6. Preposition, Preposisi, contoh : on, in, at, the, a, between, below, above, dan lain sebagainya.
7. Participle, berlaku pada verb jika ada perubahan karena tense, contoh : (cetak tebal) hired, hiring, to hire.
8. Conjunction, Kata Sambung, contoh: and, or, but, also, either, neither, dan lainnya.

Perlu diperhatikan terkadang satu jenis kata bisa sebagai kata kerja dan kata benda contoh : Iron yang berarti setrika itu noun, atau juga menyetrika itu verb, tergantung penempatannya dalam suatu kalimat.
Mom needs new iron. (iron disini sebagai noun karena setelah verba needs)
They iron their own shirts. (iron disini sebagai verba karena setelah pronoun yang menjelaskan shirt, menyetrika kemeja nya sendiri).
